Welcome back, dear student. We really appreciate you, dear reader for following our series faithfully!✨ God bless you.
So, let us continue our conversation about Laying a Solid Foundation for the Future(check out Part 1 if you have not).
The question we will attempt to answer on this article is, "why should you be concerned?" What is the fuss about preparing for the future now?
This question may seem unnecessary, but it has become necessary in an age like ours where many young people never bother to think deeply about their future.
Many people knowingly or unknowingly live by the maxim, "Mo ma jaiye ori mi, mi o mo eyin ola," translated as I will enjoy my life now, I don't know(I couldn't care less) what tomorrow holds.
While seeking pleasure, many youths in secondary school become carefree and throw caution to the wind. They neglect the things they ought to focus on to prepare for the future.
The future belongs to those who prepare for it today. So, take responsibility now!
We are not asking you to be worried about the future. We are asking that you commit the future into God's hands and then take responsibility for preparing yourself for a bright future.
Now, why should you be concerned about how what you do now will shape the future? It is because your own future has been placed in your hands, and you will be held accountable by the One who placed it in your hands; God Himself.
You will account to God, your Maker, for how you spend your life.
As we wrap up, dear friends, indifference towards your future does not cut it; worry does not help you.
What you need is a healthy desire to build a future that will reflect God's design for you: separation unto God, and selfless service to others.
In preparing for the future, whom am I building to please? For whom am I building?
Watch out for part 3; where these questions will be discussed with clarity.
