Back then in SS 2 I was on the big side, dark skinned, and had big pimples on my face. I was sad that all my friends were slim and had smooth skin. The boys flocked around my pretty friends while I was mostly ignored by them. One guy even called me ugly and told me nobody wanted me.
So I started to throw myself at any guy that was available. I wanted them to love me too. Soon my plan worked, and guys started asking me out. I was so happy, so I did very silly and immoral things with them, with the hope that they would all love me more.
A few months before I went to uni, I was at a library one day and I just felt a push to move towards one of the shelves and I picked a Bible. I just opened it and I saw James 4:17 "So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”
That was surely a warning, but the attention I was getting from the guys was too sweet, so I ignored that warning and continued going to a certain guy's house. I sinned against God each time I went there.
For me then, the "love and attention" of the guys, was preferable to staying in the love of God by obeying Him. How foolish.
I already determined to do the act of sexual intercourse with the guy but before that day I went for a teenagers Camp. A big sister shared her experience with us and it made me realize that I was doing the wrong thing!
I prayed to God, and asked for forgiveness but the experiences I had with those guys kept tormenting me. Anytime I was alone, I'd feel the hands of people touching and caressing me. I wasn't normal for several months. I rededicated my life to God but the feeling persistent for a while! Finally I got my deliverance during a Holy communion service in my fellowship. I was praying that day, and I literally felt the chains yanking off my body.
This is what I want you to learn from my story:
* You are beautiful, not because of how you look, but because God made you. Anyone God makes is beautifully and wonderfully made. That's what He said in His word.
* Have you checked what God calls you?
Those who belong to Him are called a chosen generation; His Bride. Jesus demonstrated His love in dying and resurrecting to redeem you from your nature of sin. By receiving God's pardon, you become precious to the Creator of the universe. To hell with the devil, or his antics to make you feel unloved.
* Your body is God's temple, so please don't sell it out to sexual immorality.
Dear Student, you are God's masterpiece, a valuable work of art. Your body belongs to God, and till He gives you the permission to share it with the chosen man or woman in marriage, please, honour Him with it.
*Adapted from a true story.
